2010… my company’s relationship with Sony/ATV fizzles and sours due in no small part to our continued interest in using sampled (cheesy) horns in hip hop production. “Gotta use real horns, mate.” Ugh.
2012… we’re prepping a playlist of actual tracks played in actual NFL stadiums by an actual real-life stadium DJ, and every single goddamn hip hop and pop track has cheesed out lame-ass old-skool horns.
Dear Sony, we knew what the fuck we were doing. We still know what we’re doing. Thanks.
