Hello, We’re making some internal changes that require us to change how we configure domains. We’re sorry for the miscommunication, and please let us know if this isn’t working out for you!
Thanks, Renee

Dear tumblr,
So, you broke my custom domains. I wasn’t made aware of this until I emailed you asking what was up with my sites being dark yesterday, and this note above was what you sent back by way of explanation.
I have more than a few sites built on tumblr’s technology, so this is kind of a big deal. Not for, you know, the nation… or society at large… or even your ad revenue… but for me, and my various businesses and online interests, it’s a big ass deal to be offline for an hour, let alone a day or more. Especially without warning.
Look, I get it, I don’t pay for anything here short of having to unpin some red thumbtacks at the top of my dashboard a few times a day. I’m not looking to start a bitch fest or anything, but there are times when your support and communication (or rather, your lack thereof) are so mindbogglingly and frustratingly bass ackwards that it really melts my brain.
In the future, please communicate about any new IP addresses needed for domain forwarding BEFORE you make the changes.
Also, when the hell will my sites be back online? I’m still down.
Thanks,
Daniel
